  • 1 medium size onion
  • 1 medium size potato
  • 2-3 tomatoes
  • 200-300 grams spinach
  • 2 green chillies
  • 1 teaspoon red chilli powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • to taste salt (quarter teaspoon approximately)
  • Any vegetable oil

How to Make Aloo Palak Sabzi (potato-spinach side dish)

If you have prepared the ingredients needed, now time to start cooking. There are 5 steps you must follow to make Aloo Palak Sabzi (potato-spinach side dish) in your home by yourself.

    Step 1
  • Put any vegetable oil about 2 tablespoon in a pan which has heavy base. Add finely chopped onion in it.
  • Step 2
  • Let onion be caramalised, after it becomes soft pink add one teaspoon chilli powder, quarter teaspoon turmeric and about quarter teaspoon salt in the pan. Let it cook for 2 minutes.
  • Step 3
  • Now add 1 medium size potato chopped in small cubes and chopped tomatoes to the pan. Let it cook for about 10-15 minutes and cover the pan while cooking. While cooking stirr the mixture once or twice.
  • Step 4
  • After the potatoes become soft and tomatoes get squishy, add chopped spinach into the pan and put the pan on high heat. Cook for about 2 mins and stirr the mixture and take the pan out of stove.
  • Step 5
  • Now serve the sabzi with roti or rice.
