  • 1 chicken weighing 1 kilo, cut into serving pieces
  • 3 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 3 garlic cloves, crushed
  • 1 tsp ginger, sliced in strips
  • 1 tbsp patis sauce (fish sauce) optional
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 10 cup hot water
  • 1 medium green papaya, sliced into serving pieces
  • 1 cup sili leaves (pepper leaves) or rocket leaves (rucola)
  • 1 salt and pepper, according to taste

If you have prepared the ingredients needed, now time to start cooking. There are 3 steps you must follow to make AMIEs CHICKEN Tinola in your home by yourself.

    Step 1
  • Heat oil in a frying pan. Fry the garlic until brown. Add the onion and ginger. Cook until softened. Put the pieces of chicken and add patis sauce. Cover and simmer for 5 minutes.
  • Step 2
  • Pour the water, and simmer until chicken is tender and cooked. Add the sliced papaya and cook until papaya is tender. Season with salt and pepper. Add the leaves. Cover and cook for another 2 minutes.
  • Step 3
