  • 2 1/2 cup flour
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 3 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 cup cooking oil
  • 5 egg yolks
  • 3/4 cup orange juice
  • 1 tsp orange rind
  • 1 cup egg white
  • 1/2 tsp cream of tartar (optional)
  • 1/4 cup sugar

If you have prepared the ingredients needed, now time to start cooking. There are 6 steps you must follow to make AMIEs ORANGE Chiffon Cake in your home by yourself.

    Step 1
  • Preheat the oven to 165ºC (325ºF). Lightly grease a 25-cm (10-in) round cake pan and line the base with baking paper.
  • Step 2
  • Sift dry ingredients together; first 4 ingredients, into a mixing bowl gradually mixing well. Add in order - cooking oil, egg yolks, orange juice and orange rind. Beat until smooth.
  • Step 3
  • In a separate bowl, beat egg whites and cream of tartar until they form very stiff peaks. Add 1/4 cup sugar , and continue to beat thoroughly.
  • Step 4
  • Pour egg yolk mixture in a thin stream over egg whites using the cut and fold strokes. Continue folding until completely blended.
  • Step 5
  • Pour into prepared baking pan at 165ºC (325ºF) for 50 minutes, then at 175ºC (350ºF) for 10 minutes or until done. Cool. Frost as desired.
  • Step 6
