  • 200 grams grated potatoe
  • 50 grams dark chocolate
  • 100 grams sugar
  • 130 grams softened butter
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 160 grams flour
  • 1 tbsp baking powder
  • 80 grams nuts (walnut)
  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 2 eggs
  • 4 tbsp milk
  • chocolate frosting
  • 2 tbsp unsweetened cacao
  • 1 egg white
  • 150 grams icing sugar
  • 3 tbsp milk, or rum, if desired


If you have prepared the ingredients needed, now time to start cooking. There are 6 steps you must follow to make AMIEs POTATO CHOCOLATE Cake in your home by yourself.

    Step 1
  • Preheat the oven to 180ºC (360ºF). Lightly grease a 25-cm (10-in) round cake pan and line the base with baking paper.
  • Step 2
  • Blend chocolate and 2 tablespoons of nuts in a blender until become powder. In a separate bowl, beat the sugar, butter, vanilla, cinnamon and eggs together until thick and pale.
  • Step 3
  • Sift in the flour and baking powder. Add the remaining nuts and milk and stir to combine. Add the grated potato and chocolate with nuts powder to the mixture. Mix well until well incorporated.
  • Step 4
  • Pour into the prepared pan and bake for 60 minutes, until golden brown. Leave the cake to cool in the pan for 20 minutes before turning out into a rack to cool completely.
  • Step 5
  • Mix topping ingredients well and spread evenly on the cake. Dust generously with grated nuts.
  • Step 6
