  • 1/4 tsp cardamom
  • 1/2 tsp ground nutmeg
  • 1 tbsp flax seeds (optional)
  • 1 tbsp chia seeds (optional)
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 crushed walnuts or almonds (optional)
  • 1 honey or maple syrup (optional)

    Step 1
  • Core and slice/chop a medium apple
  • Step 2
  • Combine apple, oats, water, applesauce, vanilla, spices, flax seeds, and chia seeds in a pot
  • Step 3
  • Bring to a boil, then turn down heat to medium and cook until liquid has been absorbed, stirring often
  • Step 4
  • Note: if using a microwave, combine ingredients above in a microwave safe bowl and cook in intervals of 30 seconds on high until liquid is absorbed
  • Step 5
  • Once liquid is absorbed, stir in milk
  • Step 6
  • Sprinkle nuts and drizzle sweetener over top, serve warm
