  • 4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1 cup shortening
  • 4 egg yolks
  • 2 tbsp lemon juice
  • 10 tbsp cold water
  • FILLING:
  • 7 cup finely chopped peeled apples
  • 2 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 dash ground nutmeg
  • GLAZE:
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tbsp 2% milk
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice

How to Make Apple Pie Bars

If you have prepared the ingredients needed, now time to start cooking. There are 4 steps you must follow to make Apple Pie Bars in your home by yourself.

    Step 1
  • Combine flour, salt & baking powder. Cut in shortening until mixture resembles coarse crumbles. In a separate bowl, whisk egg yolks, lemon juice,& water; gradually add to flour mix, tossing with a fork until dough forms a ball. Divide in half & chill for 30 mins.
  • Step 2
  • Roll out one portion of dough & transfer to an ungreased 15-in. x 10-in. x 1-in. baking pan.
  • Step 3
  • In a large bowl, toss apples, sugar, flour, cinnamon & nutmeg; spread over crust. Roll out remaining pastry to fit top of pan; place over filling. Pinch to seal; Cut slits in top.
  • Step 4
  • Bake at 375° for 45-50 minutes or until golden brown. Cool. Combine glaze ingredients until smooth; drizzle over bars before cutting.
