  • 1 9" double pie crust
  • 1/2 cup Butter
  • 3 tbsp All purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup Water
  • 1/2 cup Sugar
  • 1/2 cup Brown sugar, packed
  • 8 each Granny Smith apples, peeled, cored and sliced

How to Make Apple Pie

If you have prepared the ingredients needed, now time to start cooking. There are 11 steps you must follow to make Apple Pie in your home by yourself.

    Step 1
  • Preheat oven to 475°F.
  • Step 2
  • Melt butter in saucepan.
  • Step 3
  • Stir in flour to form paste.
  • Step 4
  • Add water, sugar and brown sugar and bring to a boil.
  • Step 5
  • Reduce heat and let simmer.
  • Step 6
  • Place bottom crust in pie pan and fill with apples, mounded slightly.
  • Step 7
  • Cut 2nd pie crust into 1" strips.
  • Step 8
  • Place strips over apples in a weave pattern to form lattice work crust
  • Step 9
  • Gently pour mixture over lattice work crust. Pour slowly to allow mixture to penetrate apples.
  • Step 10
  • Bake 15 minutes.
  • Step 11
  • Reduce heat to 350°F. Continue baking 30 to 45 minutes until apples are soft.
