  • 2 tsp lemon juice
  • 2 tbsp flour
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar, half mix with brown sugar
  • 1/4 tsp nutmeg
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp grated lemon rind
  • 7 cup thinly sliced, pared, cored tart apples
  • 1 tbsp butter or margerine

How to Make Apple Pie

    Step 1
  • heat oven to 425°
  • Step 2
  • line 9in pie plate with pastry
  • Step 3
  • combine lemon juice with flour,sugar,nutmeg,cinnamon,lemon rind
  • Step 4
  • place half of apples in plate, sharp edges inward
  • Step 5
  • sprinkle with half of sugar mixture
  • Step 6
  • top with rest of apples, heaping in center sprinkle with rest of sugar mixture
  • Step 7
  • dot with butter
  • Step 8
  • adjust top crust as directed and glaze
  • Step 9
  • bake 40-50min or until apples test tender with fork and crust is brown
