  • 2 cup flour all purpose
  • 2 stick cold butter
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 each egg
  • 1/2 cup ice crushed
  • Topping
  • 8 each medium apples
  • 1/2 cup sugar

How to Make Apple Tart

If you have prepared the ingredients needed, now time to start cooking. There are 28 steps you must follow to make Apple Tart in your home by yourself.

    Step 1
  • Combine flour and salt.
  • Step 2
  • Thinly slice 2 sticks cold butter.
  • Step 3
  • Add to mix.
  • Step 4
  • Combine.

  • Should be soft and crumbly.

  • In a separate bowl, whisk one egg.
  • Step 7
  • Put some ice in a baggie, and crush with with a roller.
  • Step 8
  • Add crushed ice to egg. (about 1/2 cup)

  • Add to ice egg mixture to flour mixture.
  • Step 10
  • Knead with hands until it gets a nice dough consistency.
  • Step 11
  • Will be a bit sticky, but form a dough ball.
  • Step 12
  • Using roller, press down on dough.
  • Step 13
  • Using a rolling pin, roll out dough into a roughly rectangular shape.
  • Step 14
  • Take dough and place on a cookie sheet (9" x 11") Cover, and refrigerate.

  • Peel the skin of the apples.
  • Step 16
  • Slice in quarters.
  • Step 17
  • Cut out core. (reserve)
  • Step 18
  • Reserve apple cores as you peel and core.
  • Step 19
  • Put 1 cup sugar and 1 cup water in pot on high.
  • Step 20
  • Stir until sugar is dissolved.
  • Step 21
  • Add apple cores, then reduce and simmer until syrupy (about 30 minutes.)
  • Step 22
  • Meanwhile, slice thinly the apple quarters.
  • Step 23
  • Preheat oven to 375°F and remove pastry from fridge once all apples are prepared. Place the sliced apples over lapping- like fanned cards. Bake for approximately 40 minutes until the edges are browned.
  • Step 24
  • Sprinkle with sugar.
  • Step 25
  • Strain the apple cores from the syrup.
  • Step 26
  • Pour syrup over apples.
  • Step 27
  • Cut into serving size.
  • Step 28
