  • 2 cup Rice (can use more if desired)
  • 1 can Gandules (pigeon peas)
  • 1 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 packages Sazon (spanish meat seasoning)
  • 1/4 cup Chopped garlic
  • 4 tbsp Sofrito (spanish tomatoe based sauce)
  • 3 dash Adobo (spanish seasoning)
  • a few olives (optional)
  • 3 cup water
  • 1/2 cup Mojo (spanish marinade)

How to Make Arroz con gandules/or garbanzos

If you have prepared the ingredients needed, now time to start cooking. There are 4 steps you must follow to make Arroz con gandules/or garbanzos in your home by yourself.

    Step 1
  • Put medium-large sized pot on stove on medium heat and put oil to a bit of a sizzle
  • Step 2
  • Add rice (a tiny bit more oil on top), sofrito, Adobo, garlic, Sazon, mojo, and olives. Mix well and cover for 6 mins. Stir on and off so rice doesnt stick to pot.
  • Step 3
  • Add gandules (put liquid from can in rice too) and water. Mix well. Boil cover for about 15-20 min or until soft.
  • Step 4
  • Enjoy.
