  • 3 1/4 whole milk
  • 1 1/4 water
  • 1 can sweetend consensed milk
  • 1 cup uncooked rice (can use more is desired)
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 cinnamon sticks
  • 1 ground cinnamon (for garnishing)
  • 1 sugar to taste
  • 1/3 cup raisins

How to Make Arroz con leche

If you have prepared the ingredients needed, now time to start cooking. There are 7 steps you must follow to make Arroz con leche in your home by yourself.

    Step 1
  • Place rice, water and cinnamon sticks in a heavy pot and soak for an hour.
  • Step 2
  • Pour milk in the pot of rice and bring to a boil.
  • Step 3
  • When the milk is boiling, lower heat and wait for the rice to cook over low heat.
  • Step 4
  • When rice is very well cooked add the 2 teaspoons of vanilla extract and sweet condensed milk or some sugar to taste.(You don't have to put the condensed milk its alright only with milk ).
  • Step 5
  • Stir the mixture constantly until it reaches the desired consistency.
  • Step 6
  • Let it cool
  • Step 7
  • Finally, serve it with a dusting of ground cinnamon. Add raisins too, if using.
