Ingredients: Autumn Burgers

  • 1 lb 85 % lean ground turkey
  • 1/4 cup minced onion, red is what I use
  • 1/4 cup craisins, chopped
  • 1/2 tsp celery seed, you may use fresh celery, then use 1/4 cup fresh-finely chopped
  • 1 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1/4 tsp salt and pepper
  • 4 hamburger buns
  • 1 sweet potato
  • 1 tbsp oil, I use extra virgin olive oil
  • 1/2 tbsp sea salt or kosher salt

How to Make Autumn Burgers

If you have prepared the ingredients needed, now time to start cooking. There are 8 steps you must follow to make Autumn Burgers in your home by yourself.

    Step 1
  • Wash and dry sweet potato. Cut off ends. Using a mandoline slicer, cut 1/8 " thick slices lengthwise.
  • Step 2
  • Preheat oven to 425°F.
  • Step 3
  • On a parchment or silicone lined baking tray, spread out sweet potato slices. You will most likely need two trays. Spray potatoes with oil. I use a misto sprayer. You can brush them lightly with oil. Sprinkle sea salt on top and bake for 15 minutes or until lightly golden.
  • Step 4
  • In a large bowl combine ground turkey, spices, onion, craisins and parsley. Mix well and form into 4, 4 ounce patties.
  • Step 5
  • In a hot skillet with heat set to medium, place patties. You may also grill. Cook patties 4-5 minutes a side.
  • Step 6
  • Serve burgers on the buns with sweet potato chips on top and as a side.
