  • 8 slice bacon
  • 10 button mushrooms; medium-thick slices
  • 2 clove garlic; minced
  • 1 tsp thyme; minced
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 pinch salt and pepper
  • 1 vegetable oil; as needed

How to Make Bacon Fried Shrooms

If you have prepared the ingredients needed, now time to start cooking. There are 4 steps you must follow to make Bacon Fried Shrooms in your home by yourself.

    Step 1
  • Place bacon on a sheet tray and bake at 350° for approximately 20-25 minutes or until bacon is crispy and has rendered it's fat.
  • Step 2
  • Remove bacon from tray and set aside. Pour bacon fat into a large saute pan.
  • Step 3
  • Add mushrooms. Season. Saute on high heat for one minute to get a sear. Turn heat down to medium. Add garlic. Saute until garlic is fragrant and mushrooms have caramelized. Add oil only if necessary.
  • Step 4
  • Variations; Flavored bacon, horseradish, parsley, oregano, chives, scallion, mustard, red wine, bourbon, caramelized onions or shallots, roasted bell peppers or garlic
