  • 270 grams Phyllo pastry
  • 1 Egg
  • 1 cup Dates
  • 1/2 cup Grated coconut
  • 3 tbsp Sugar
  • 1 tbsp Ghee/butter
  • 1 Oil for frying/ or you can just bake it!

How to Make Baked Date Samosas

If you have prepared the ingredients needed, now time to start cooking. There are 9 steps you must follow to make Baked Date Samosas in your home by yourself.

  • Remove seeds from dates and start chopping the dates into small pieces
  • Step 2
  • In a pan heat the butter and gently fry the coconut and sugar until the sugar melts and the coconut is lightly browned

  • Add in the chopped dates and stir until everything is well combined then take out of the heat immediately
  • Step 4
  • Cut the phyllo pastry in half
  • Step 5
  • Then into strips
  • Step 6
  • Use a tsp to insert the filling in to the corner of the phyllo strip... Then start folding it into a triangular motion
  • Step 7
  • Seep the ends of the pastry using a gentle egg wash using a brush
  • Step 8
  • Brush the samosas generously with egg and place into the oven and bake, turning them over to the other side halfway through until both sides are golden and crisp
  • Step 9
  • This may take about 25 mins
