  • 1/3 cup Shortening or Butter
  • 1/2 cup Sugar
  • 2 Eggs
  • 1 3/4 cup sifted All-Purpose Flour
  • 1 tsp Baking Powder
  • 1/2 tsp Baking Soda
  • 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 1 cup Mashed Ripe Banana
  • 1/2 cup Chopped Walnuts (Optional)
  • 1 cup Chocolate Chips (optional)

How to Make Banana Bread

If you have prepared the ingredients needed, now time to start cooking. There are 3 steps you must follow to make Banana Bread in your home by yourself.

    Step 1
  • Preheat the oven to 350.
  • Step 2
  • Cream together the shortening or butter and sugar; add eggs and beat well. Sift together the dry ingredients; add to creamed mixture alternating with the banana, blend well after each addition. Stir in nuts (optional).
  • Step 3
  • Pour into a well greased 9x5x3 loaf pan; sprinkel with nutmeg and bake for 45- 50 minutes or until done. Remove from pan; cool on wrack.
