  • 1 9 in pie crust
  • 2/3 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup cornstarch
  • 1 dash salt
  • 2 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 4 bananas
  • 1 pints whipping cream or heavy cream
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar

How to Make Banana Cream Pie

If you have prepared the ingredients needed, now time to start cooking. There are 6 steps you must follow to make Banana Cream Pie in your home by yourself.

    Step 1
  • Bake pie shell and let cool.
  • Step 2
  • Mash bananas as you would for mashed potatoes. Note: Make sure to remove all the strings from the fruit.
  • Step 3
  • Combine sugar, cornstarch, milk, mashed bananas, salt, and vanilla extract in a saucepan over medium heat until thickened.
  • Step 4
  • Pour filling into pie shell and let cool in fridge for a least 2 hours.
  • Step 5
  • In a separate bowl with a whisk or electric mixer (electric mixer is a bit easier) combine heavy/whipping cream with powder sugar until thickened and fluffy. Using an icing bag or a zip lock with the corner cut out put the whipping cream inside and decorate the top of the cooled pie. Then place back in fridge to cool.
  • Step 6
  • Cut and server.
