  • 1 slice of salted fish (approx. 250g)
  • 2 tbsp olive oil, extra virgin
  • 3 garlic cloves, peeled and finely chopped

If you have prepared the ingredients needed, now time to start cooking. There are 7 steps you must follow to make Barbecued Salted Cod in your home by yourself.

    Step 1
  • With salted fish you have to place in cold water 24 hours prior to cooking to remove some of the saltiness. Change the water 2-3 times in that 24 period.
  • Step 2
  • Drain the cod well from the water prior to cooking.
  • Step 3
  • Set up your barbecue. And when its the right temperature place the cod on the grill.
  • Step 4
  • Grill on both sides for 5-10 minutes or until it has become slightly charred on each side and crispy.
  • Step 5
  • Then remove, place on a plate and using two forks de-bone and shred the cod.
  • Step 6
  • Drizzle olive oil and add the garlic over the shredded cod.
  • Step 7
  • You may add more oilve oil and garlic if you wish. Serve with a nice piece of crusty bread. And enjoy.
