  • 1 (BEEF CHIMICHANGA)
  • 1 tbsp Oil
  • 500 grams Lean ground beef
  • 495 grams Burrito kit
  • 3 stick Spring onion, sliced
  • 1/4 cup Slivered almonds
  • 1 cup Grated cheddar cheese
  • 1/4 cup Slivered almond (extra), toasted
  • 1 stick Spring onion (extra), sliced

How to Make Beef & Cheese Chimichangas

If you have prepared the ingredients needed, now time to start cooking. There are 7 steps you must follow to make Beef & Cheese Chimichangas in your home by yourself.

    Step 1
  • Preheat oven to 180*C.
  • Step 2
  • Heat oil in a large non stick fry pan, add mince and cook well until well browned.
  • Step 3
  • Stir in burrito seasoning mix, 1/4 cup water, shallots and 1/4 cup almonds. Simmer for 3 minutes. Cool, then fold through cheese.
  • Step 4
  • Open burrito tortilla pack, throw away freshness sachet.
  • Step 5
  • Microwave tortillas in pouch on high for 30 seconds to make tortillas more flexible. Spoon 1/3 cup mince mixture into centre of tortilla. Moisten edges slightly, fold all ends in like a parcel and turn over.
  • Step 6
  • Brush Chimichangas with oil and place on baking tray lined with baking paper. Bake for 15/20 mins or until golden brown. Serve topped with salsa and extra shallots and toasted almonds. Sensational!
