Ingredients: Beef Lasagna

  • Sheets Lasagna
  • 300 grams minced/ground beef
  • 250 ml pasta sauce
  • 300 ml white bechamel (see my earlier recipe)
  • 300 grams cheddar cheese
  • 100 grams mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 white onion (diced)
  • 1 green pepper (chopped)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • to taste herbs of your choice

How to Make Beef Lasagna

If you have prepared the ingredients needed, now time to start cooking. There are 16 steps you must follow to make Beef Lasagna in your home by yourself.

    Step 1
  • In a pan, warm the oil and add the green pepper and onion. Fry until onion is translucent.
  • Step 2
  • Preheat an oven to 180 degrees celcius
  • Step 3
  • Add the ground/minced beef to the same pan and fry until brown. If it gets too dry, add tablespoons of water at a time until you are satisfied with the meat.
  • Step 4
  • Add the pasta sauce to the meat and stir. The aim is to get the meaty juice into the sauce for all the great flavour.
  • Step 5
  • Now it's time to layer. In a large baking tray, start off with a thin layer of the bechamel.
  • Step 6
  • Then add a layer of pasta sheets
  • Step 7
  • Then some of the meat
  • Step 8
  • Then a pasta layer
  • Step 9
  • Then some bechamel and cheddar cheese
  • Step 10
  • Then some pasta
  • Step 11
  • Then more meat and some cheddar cheese
  • Step 12
  • Another pasta layer
  • Step 13
  • Then more of the bechamel
  • Step 14
  • Then the rest of the cheddar cheese and the mozzarella cheese
  • Step 15
  • Top it off with some herbs and pop it in the oven for 35-45 minutes
  • Step 16
  • Remove from the oven and let it set a little, because if you try and scoop it out straight from the oven it falls apart.
