  • 250 ml port wine
  • 3 (400 ml) cans tomato
  • 3 tablespoon tomato paste
  • 200 ml homemade beef stock
  • 200 gram blue cheese
  • 100 gram Penne pasta per person (dry weight)
  • 200 gram shredded cheese for gratinating

If you have prepared the ingredients needed, now time to start cooking. There are 7 steps you must follow to make Blue cheese bolognese bake in your home by yourself.

    Step 1
  • Grate then sweat vegetables in pot under lid for about 5 minutes.
  • Step 2
  • Sear mince in batches. And I realy mean toast it, think crispy bacon !! then add to vegetables.
  • Step 3
  • Cook tomato paste in pan that you used to sear mince then add port wine to de glaze the pan, add it all to pot with vegetables.
  • Step 4
  • Add all the other ingredients to pot except cheese and pasta.
  • Step 5
  • Cook the mix for 1 hour in pressure cooker or 6 hours on simmer.
  • Step 6
  • Boil pasta al dente, correct seasoning if needed and add blue cheese and stir throughout. Then mix with pasta.
  • Step 7
  • Add mix to oven safe dish and grate some cheese on top.
