  • 800 grams Boerewors (beef sausage)
  • 6 hotdog rolls
  • 50 grams butter
  • 100 grams Peri Peri Sauce or Roasted Chili Sauce or Tomato ketchup
  • JJ's Caramelised Onions
  • 3 large onions, peeled and sliced
  • 50 ml olive oil
  • 3 clove crushed garlic
  • 10 ml white sugar
  • 5 ml ground black pepper

    Step 1
  • Make the caramelised onions
  • Step 2
  • Cut open the hotdog rolls length wise and butter
  • Step 3
  • Fry the boerewors (beef sausage) in a frying pan over a high heat (or on a braai - barbecue) until meduim to well cooked
  • Step 4
  • Cut the sausage into 6 equal pieces. Place a piece of sausage on each roll
  • Step 5
  • Add caramelised onions. Then top off with your favourite condiment. Peri Peri Sauce or Roasted Chili Sauce or Tomato ketchup.
