  • 12 large strait jalapenos
  • 2 8 oz pkgs cream cheese
  • 2 tbsp mild taco seasoning
  • 3 tbsp prepared salsa verde
  • 1 packages turkey bacon
  • 1 hickory wood for smoking. or other preferred wood

    Step 1
  • Remove tops of jalapenos. Cut in half and remove seeds.
  • Step 2
  • Mix room temperature cream cheese, salsa, and taco seasoning in a lg mixing bowl.
  • Step 3
  • Load jalapeno halves with mixture.
  • Step 4
  • Wrap with a slice of bacon. Secure with a toothpick if needed
  • Step 5
  • Place on the middle rack of a smoker. Smoke between 150-200 degrees for 2-3 hours. I used hickory but any hardwood will work
  • Step 6
  • Remove to a baking dish and finish in the oven at 400°F until peppers are done
  • Step 7
  • Serve warm
