  • 100 grams, dried Lentils
  • 2 tbsp Onions (minced)
  • 1 tbsp Olive oil
  • 200 ml ★ Water
  • 2 tsp ★White wine vinegar
  • 2 tsp ★ Salt
  • 1 to tatse ★ Pepper
  • 1 ★Bay leaf
  • 1 Hot water
  • 1 Black peppercorns
  • 1 Extra virgin olive oil (for finishing)

How to Make Braised Lentils

If you have prepared the ingredients needed, now time to start cooking. There are 6 steps you must follow to make Braised Lentils in your home by yourself.

    Step 1
  • Soak the lentils in plenty of water for about 30 minutes. Rinse to discard impurities and drain in a sieve.
  • Step 2
  • Fry the finely chopped onion in olive oil without burning.
  • Step 3
  • After the onion has softened, add the lentils and ★ ingredients.
  • Step 4
  • Simmer over low heat and skim off the scums. As the cooking liquid evaporates, add enough hot water to submerge the lentils.
  • Step 5
  • Add hot water in 2-3 batches. Simmer until there's no scum on the surface for about 30 minutes.
  • Step 6
  • Sprinkle with black pepper and drizzle with the extra virgin olive oil. Serve.
