  • 5 short-ribs (bone in or out)
  • salt (kosher)
  • 1 large yellow onion, 1/2 cut
  • 1 olive oil, extra virgin
  • 2 carrots, sliced and peeled, cut
  • 3 garlic cloves smashed
  • 1 1/2 tomato paste
  • 3 cup 120 cavernet sauvignon, red wine
  • 2 cup water
  • 1 bunch fresh thyme
  • 2 bay leaves

If you have prepared the ingredients needed, now time to start cooking. There are 6 steps you must follow to make Braised short - ribs in your home by yourself.

    Step 1
  • Pre heat oven 375
  • Step 2
  • Season short- ribs with salt, in large pot, coat with olive oil (wait until pan is hot) to base the oil. When you can see smoke rising from pan, add short- ribs until brown on all sides of meat- takes about 3-5 minutes, Remove the short-ribs
  • Step 3
  • Drain fat, cut vegetables and put in a processor until vegetables are paste. Then put in the same pot with fresh oil.
  • Step 4
  • Brown vegetables before adding tomato paste, after you see the tomatoe paste brown add red wine. Reduce by half
  • Step 5
  • Add short ribs and add your water and place in oven for 3 hours. Check on time to time, add water if needed
  • Step 6
  • Let rest for 10 mins before serving
