Ingredients: Brazilian Quindim

  • 10 each sieved egg yolks
  • 2 oz grated coconut (50 grams)
  • 5 oz coconut milk (150 ml)
  • 6 oz sugar (200 grams)

How to Make Brazilian Quindim

If you have prepared the ingredients needed, now time to start cooking. There are 6 steps you must follow to make Brazilian Quindim in your home by yourself.

    Step 1
  • Add grated coconut, coconut milk and sugar to the sieved egg yolks and mix gently.
  • Step 2
  • Grease a tube baking pan with a lot of butter, then add sugar to it instead of flour, like you would usually do.
  • Step 3
  • Then gently put the liquid you just prepared in the pan.
  • Step 4
  • Put it to bake in bain-marie (meaning that you place the tube baking pan inside another larger pan full of water). The temperature should be 180C - 350°F
  • Step 5
  • It will be ready when the quindim starts turning brown and the coconut comes to the surface. It takes around 40 to 60 minutes.
  • Step 6
  • You can also bake individual Quindims using Muffing pans :D
