  • 1 lb Baby carrots
  • 2 tbsp Butter
  • 3 tbsp Dark brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp Minced onion
  • Salt and pepper
  • 1 dash Onion powder

If you have prepared the ingredients needed, now time to start cooking. There are 8 steps you must follow to make Brown Sugar Carrots in your home by yourself.

    Step 1
  • Gather your ingredients.
  • Step 2
  • Slice carrots if desired, or you may leave them whole.
  • Step 3
  • Place carrots into a medium sized saucepan. Add enough water to steam. You only need a few tablespoons. I added enough to cover the bottom of the pan but not the carrots entirely.
  • Step 4
  • Cover and steam over medium heat about ten minutes or until carrots are soft but not mushy. We still want a little bite.
  • Step 5
  • Uncover and drain any remaining water.
  • Step 6
  • Place back onto burner and add the butter, brown sugar, minced onion, salt, and pepper. Increase heat to medium-high.
  • Step 7
  • Cook, stirring frequently, until sauce begins to caramelize and carrots begin to brown. (About 7 minutes.)
  • Step 8
  • When they are almost done, add a dash of onion powder and mix well.
