  • 1 lb fresh Brussels sprouts, rinsed, stems trimmed
  • 1/4 lb bacon, chopped
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper

    Step 1
  • Place the Brussels sprouts in a large pot of cold water and set over high heat. As soon as the water reaches a boil, set a timer for 2 minutes. Drain and rinse them under cold water to stop the cooking process. Set aside in a colander.
  • Step 2
  • Place the bacon in a large skillet set over medium-high heat. Sauté the bacon until it has started to become brown and crisp. Remove pan fro heat and spoon off and discard half of the rendered bacon fat.
