  • 2 cup Flour
  • 2 cup Buttermilk
  • 2 tsp Baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp Salt
  • 1 tsp Baking soda
  • 6 tbsp Melted butter
  • 2 tbsp Sugar

    Step 1
  • Separate egg yolks from whites.
  • Step 2
  • Add sugar to egg whites, whip until stiff.
  • Step 3
  • In large bowl, combine yolks, buttermilk, and remaining dry ingredients.
  • Step 4
  • Add melted butter to buttermilk mixture.
  • Step 5
  • Fold egg white mixture into buttermilk mixture.
  • Step 6
  • Using 1/2 cup of mixture per waffle, bake in waffle iron until golden (3-5 minutes).

  • Sprinkle powdered sugar on top if desired.
  • Step 8
  • Leftovers freeze and toast up wonderfully!
