  • 1/6 Cabbage (shredded)
  • 1 Salt (to taste)
  • 1 dash Pepper
  • 1 dash Umami seasoning (optional)
  • 2 tsp to 3 tsp Roasted sesame seeds
  • 1/2 tbsp to 1 tbsp Sesame oil

How to Make Cabbage Namul

If you have prepared the ingredients needed, now time to start cooking. There are 6 steps you must follow to make Cabbage Namul in your home by yourself.

    Step 1
  • Shred the cabbage. I shredded it into thick strips this time.
  • Step 2
  • Add salt (excluded from the recipe) into boiling water, and blanch the cabbage. Transfer into a sieve and let it cool down. When you don't have time, soak in water, and squeeze the excess water out.
  • Step 3
  • Please be careful not to squeeze it too hard because it will break its fibers. Mix with the sesame oil, and season with the remaining seasoning ingredients, then done.
  • Step 4
  • If you keep a stock of garlic sesame oil on hand, you can easily make namul anytime. Mix the vegetables with 1 tablespoon of garlic sesame oil ( and a small amount of pepper.
