Ingredients: Champurado

  • 1 Cinnamon stick
  • 2 cup water
  • 1 medium chocolate/abuelita bar
  • 3 tbsp sugar
  • 2 tbsp flour/masa
  • 3 cup milk

How to Make Champurado

If you have prepared the ingredients needed, now time to start cooking. There are 8 steps you must follow to make Champurado in your home by yourself.

    Step 1
  • In a large pan, heat water and cinnamon stick until boiling.
  • Step 2
  • After cinnamon boils, add chocolate/abuelita and stir constantly until the chocolate has melted
  • Step 3
  • Brown the flour until golden. Put into a bowl and add cup of milk. Stir/whip until there is no balls left in bowl
  • Step 4
  • Or if you are using masa, no need for browning the flour. Just add the portion to the bowl and stir/whip with equal parts of milk as listed (2 cups)
  • Step 5
  • After the flour is stirred with balls, add into the cinnamon/chocolate water
  • Step 6
  • Constantly stir mix, then add the rest (1) cup of milk to water
  • Step 7
  • Mix, add sugar, mix
  • Step 8
