Ingredients: Champurrado

  • 1 cup masa harina
  • 8 cup water
  • 7 cup milk
  • 3/4 tsp salt
  • 2 cup boiling cinnamon water
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 abuelita tablets (3 oz each)

How to Make Champurrado

If you have prepared the ingredients needed, now time to start cooking. There are 8 steps you must follow to make Champurrado in your home by yourself.

    Step 1
  • Mix water and milk
  • Step 2
  • In 3 cups of water & milk mixture, wisk in the masa harina until completely smooth.
  • Step 3
  • In large pot, melt Abuelita chocolate in 1 cup of water/milk mixture.
  • Step 4
  • When chocolate has completely melted, slowly add chocolate to water/milk mixture.
  • Step 5
  • Add salt & masa harina mixture to milk mixture.
  • Step 6
  • Pour everything back into large pot and bring to a boil, stirring constantly.
  • Step 7
  • Add cinnamon water and sugar. Lower heat and simmer for 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  • Step 8
  • Serve with mexican sweet bread and enjoy!
