  • 8 oz bacon
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 6 cup yellow onion
  • 4 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 1/2 cup flour
  • 2 tsp kosher salt
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp ground tumeric
  • 12 cup chicken stock
  • 6 each diced potatoes
  • 3 lb frozen corn
  • 2 cup half and half
  • 1/2 lb sharp white cheddar gratrd

If you have prepared the ingredients needed, now time to start cooking. There are 5 steps you must follow to make Cheddar corn chowder in your home by yourself.

    Step 1
  • cook bacon and olive oil in large stock pot until bacon is crisp
  • Step 2
  • remove bacon and add onions and butter to fat until onions are translucent
  • Step 3
  • stir in flour, salt, pepper and turmeric cook for 3 minutes
  • Step 4
  • add chicken stock and potatoes and boil for 15 minutes
  • Step 5
  • add corn, half and half and cheddar and cook till cheese is melted. garnish with bacon
