  • Line a pound cake pan with parchment paper.
  • Step 2
  • Preheat the oven to 170℃. Mash 100 g of the chestnuts using a fork.

  • Put the butter or margarine (brought to room temperature in advance) in a bowl, and cream it.
  • Step 4
  • Mix in the sugar and add the beaten egg in 2-3 batches. Mix well after each addition.
  • Step 5
  • Add the mashed chestnuts and mix well. Add the pancake mix and milk to the batter and mix in thoroughly with a spatula.
  • Step 6
  • Pour the batter into the cake pan. Put 100 g of chestnuts (not mashed) in the middle of the batter if you like.
  • Step 7
  • Bake in the oven at 170℃ for 45-50 minutes. Check to see if it's cooked by piercing the cake with a bamboo skewer. If it comes out clean, it's ready.
  • Step 8
