  • 4 chicken breasts (boneless, skinless)
  • 1 1/2 cup bread crumbs
  • 3/4 cup parmesan cheese (grated)
  • 1 tbsp chopped parsley
  • 1 garlic clove (minced)
  • 1 cup flour
  • 2 large eggs (beaten)
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 2 tbsp oil
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 1 can spaghetti sauce
  • 1 cup mozzarella (grated) for topping
  • 1/2 cup parmesan cheese (grated) for topping

How to Make Chicken parmagiana

If you have prepared the ingredients needed, now time to start cooking. There are 6 steps you must follow to make Chicken parmagiana in your home by yourself.

    Step 1
  • Prepare a breading station by arranging 3 shallow bowls with the following. Flour salt and pepper in the first. Beaten eggs in the second. Breadcrumbs, 3/4 cup Parmesan cheese, parsley and garlic in the 3rd.
  • Step 2
  • Dredge the chicken first in the flour mixture, then the beaten egg, and lastly the bread crumb mixture. Ensure the breasts are completely coated.
  • Step 3
  • Heat a large frying pan over medium heat. Add butter and oil. When oil is hot, and chicken and cook until golden brown on each side, about 2 to 3 minutes per side.
  • Step 4
  • Transfer chicken to baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Top each breast with a spoonful of spaghetti sauce. About quarter cup grated mozzarella and 2 tablespoons of grated Parmesan cheese.
  • Step 5
  • Bake at 350°F until an internal temperature of 165°F. Approximately 12 to 15 minutes depending on thickness.
  • Step 6
  • Serve with remaining spaghetti sauce on side for dipping.
