  • 400 grams Kidney beans (or mixed beans, chickpeas, soy beans etc.)
  • 250 grams Ground meat mix
  • 100 grams Bacon (minced as the same size as the ground meat)
  • 2 Onions (large)
  • 4 Green bell peppers
  • 1 small Carrot
  • 2 clove Garlic
  • 2 Canned tomatoes
  • 1 tbsp * Cumin
  • 1 tbsp or more *Chili powder
  • 2 tbsp *Ketchup
  • 1 tbsp *Japanese Worcestershire-style sauce
  • 1 tbsp * Garlic and soy sauce (normal soy sauce)
  • 1 * Soup stock cube
  • 200 ml *Water (leftover from rehydrating the beans)
  • 1 tsp * Oregano
  • 1 1/2 tsp *Salt
  • 2 tbsp Vegetable oil
  • 2 tbsp White flour
  • 1 dash Salt and pepper
  • 2 tbsp White wine (or cooking sake)
  • 1 Bay leaf

How to Make Chile Con Carne

If you have prepared the ingredients needed, now time to start cooking. There are 7 steps you must follow to make Chile Con Carne in your home by yourself.

    Step 1
  • Chop the vegetables roughly into the same size.
  • Step 2
  • Heat oil in a pot and fry the garlic. Once it's fragrant, add the onions and fry until soft.
  • Step 3
  • Add the ground meat, brown over high heat, and then add the white wine.
  • Step 4
  • Reduce heat to medium, adding the remaining vegetables and flour and coat the mixture with the flour evenly.
  • Step 5
  • Add the canned tomatoes, beans, water, * ingredients, and bay leaf, and boil for about 40 minutes.
  • Step 6
  • Stir while scraping the bottom of the pot to avoid burning, and season with salt and pepper.
  • Step 7
  • Transfer into bowls and it's done. Eat with bread or tortillas.
