Ingredients: Chile Verde sauce

  • 15 tomatillos
  • 2 Anaheim chiles
  • 1 jalepeño chiles
  • 1/2 pasilla chile
  • 1/2 Onion
  • 1 clove garlic
  • 1 bunch cilantro
  • 1 small carrot
  • salt

How to Make Chile Verde sauce

If you have prepared the ingredients needed, now time to start cooking. There are 4 steps you must follow to make Chile Verde sauce in your home by yourself.

    Step 1
  • Take off husks of tomatillos. Roughly cut onion and carrot. Take off stems of chiles
  • Step 2
  • Boil tomatillos, all chiles, onion, garlic and carrot in stock pot for about 20 minutes
  • Step 3
  • Using slotted spoon, scoop all boiled ingredients into blender. Also, add cilantro to blender. Blend on high carefully. Steam can cause an exposion in blender. I leave mine vented a bit and cover with a towel and slight pressure. Salt to taste
  • Step 4
  • Enjoy with shredded chicken, as a salsa, or use in enchiladas
