  • 1 teaspoon chopped garlic

How to Make Chili Beans

If you have prepared the ingredients needed, now time to start cooking. There are 5 steps you must follow to make Chili Beans in your home by yourself.

    Step 1
  • Soak pinto beans in four cups water overnight in crockpot without heat.
  • Step 2
  • Drain and rinse beans in the morning.
  • Step 3
  • Return beans to crockpot and cover with just enough water to cover. Add salt, chili powder, paprika, onion powder, celery salt, and garlic.
  • Step 4
  • Turn on low for 10-12 hours, check every so often to make sure water is still just covering beans and to stir.
  • Step 5
  • Optional step for refried beans: mix beans along with liquid and all in food processor to desired consistency.
