Ingredients: Chili Con Carne

  • 2 tbsp oil
  • 2 tablespoons of white sugar
  • dash salt & pepper to taste
  • 6 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 large white onion, chopped
  • 1 packages McCormick Chili con Carne Seasoning Mix
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 3 green bell peppers, diced
  • 2 red bell peppers, diced
  • 3 tomatoes, diced
  • 1 small jar of black olives, pitted and sliced (optional)
  • 500 grams spaghetti/tomato sauce
  • 1 can of sweet corn kernels
  • 1 small jar of cheese sauce
  • 1 box cheddar cheese, cubed
  • 2 cans of cooked red kidney beans
  • 1 kg of ground beef

How to Make Chili Con Carne

If you have prepared the ingredients needed, now time to start cooking. There are 5 steps you must follow to make Chili Con Carne in your home by yourself.

    Step 1
  • Heat oil in a large saucepan over medium heat. Cook onions until translucent and garlic until golden brown.
  • Step 2
  • Add and cook ground beef for about 30 minutes or until brown.
  • Step 3
  • Stir in Chili con Carne seasoning, diced green and red bell peppers, corn, olives, water and tomatoes.
  • Step 4
  • Pour tomato sauce, cheese sauce and add cubed cheese. Stir in sugar, salt and pepper to taste. Bring to a boil over high heat. Reduce heat to medium low. Stir in kidney beans. Cover, and simmer for 30 minutes, stirring occasionally until chili thickens.
  • Step 5
  • All done! Serve over white rice or with corn chips.
