  • 1/2 lb sausage
  • 1 cup chopped onion
  • 2 clove garlic minced
  • 2 can 4 ounces each whole green chilies, drained and seeded
  • 2 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 4 eggs
  • 1/4 cup flour
  • 1 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 tabasco sauce to taste

If you have prepared the ingredients needed, now time to start cooking. There are 4 steps you must follow to make chili relleno bake in your home by yourself.

    Step 1
  • In a large skillet, crumble together beef and sausage. Cook over medium heat, stirring until meat is browned. Add onion and garlic ; cook until onion is limp. Drain off fat.
  • Step 2
  • Line a 9x9x2 in. baking dish with half of the chilies, top with remaining chilies, set aside.
  • Step 3
  • Beat together eggs and flour until smooth, add milk, salt and Tabasco, blend well.
  • Step 4
  • Pour the egg mixture over casserole. Bake covered at 350 for about 40 min. or until knife inserted off center comes out clean. Sprinkle remaining 1/2 cup cheese on top. Let stand 5 minutes before serving.
