  • 1 packages Tortilla chips (I prefer white corn)
  • 1 can Salsa de chile Colorado ( red chile sauce) 1 pound/12 ounces
  • 4 cup Shredded chicken
  • 3 cup Jack cheese, shredded
  • 1 tsp Dried basil
  • 1 can Cooking spray

How to Make Chillaquillas

If you have prepared the ingredients needed, now time to start cooking. There are 7 steps you must follow to make Chillaquillas in your home by yourself.

    Step 1
  • Heat a large, deep pan on Medium heat. Apply cooking spray to the bottom and sides of pan.
  • Step 2
  • Empty entire bag of tortilla chips into the pan.
  • Step 3
  • Pour half of the red chile sauce over the tortilla chips.
  • Step 4
  • Spread the shredded chicken over the tortilla chips and press down with your palm to even the layers.
  • Step 5
  • Next pour the rest of the red chile sauce over the chicken.
  • Step 6
  • Top off with the shredded Jack cheese.
  • Step 7
  • Sprinkle with the dried basil and cook for 15 minutes covered.
