  • 4 tbsp melted salted butter
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 1/2 cup whole milk

  • 1 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 tbsp granulated sugar
  • 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa
  • 1 1/4 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • frying
  • vegetable oil
  • topping
  • powdered sugar

How to Make Chocolate Funnel Cakes

If you have prepared the ingredients needed, now time to start cooking. There are 12 steps you must follow to make Chocolate Funnel Cakes in your home by yourself.

    Step 1
  • In a bowl, mix all the wet ingredients together.
  • Step 2
  • In a separate bowl, combine all the dry ingredients.
  • Step 3
  • Mix both together. You will have a pancake type batter.
  • Step 4
  • In a deep skillet with vegetable oil poured in to about under half full, heat oil to 350°F.
  • Step 5
  • Using a funnel, put your finger on the bottom of funnel. This will keep batter from spilling out. Now fill the funnel. I used a 1/2 sized funnel.
  • Step 6
  • Carefully over heated oil, let batter come out of bottom of funnel and swirl batter in circles over each other.
  • Step 7
  • Cook about 45 seconds and then flip the funnel cake.
  • Step 8
  • Cook the other side about the same time.
  • Step 9
  • Remove from oil and place on a paper towel to drain excess oil.
  • Step 10
  • Continue the same steps for the rest of the batter.
  • Step 11
  • Shake powdered sugar over each cake and enjoy.
