  • 1 can (19 oz) garbanzo beans (chickpeas)
  • 1 1/2 cup semisweet chocolate chips
  • 4 each eggs
  • 3/4 cup white sugar
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tbsp confectioners' sugar (for dusting)

If you have prepared the ingredients needed, now time to start cooking. There are 8 steps you must follow to make Chocolate Garbanzo Cake (flourless) in your home by yourself.

    Step 1
  • Preheat oven 350°F (175 C)
  • Step 2
  • Grease 9 inch round baking pan
  • Step 3
  • Drain and rinse the beans and put in food processor with the eggs. Blend until smooth.
  • Step 4
  • Add the sugar and baking powder. Pulse to mix.
  • Step 5
  • Put chocolate chips in microwave safe bowl and heat for a minute. Mix and then keep heating 20 seconds and mixing until chocolate is melted. If microwave is strong, cut power to 50%.
  • Step 6
  • Pour melted chocolate in food processor and blend until thouroughly mixed. You may have to scrape sides with spatula a couple of times.
  • Step 7
  • Pour mix into greased pan and bake for 40 minutes or until knife comes out clear. ( I baked mine for 35 mins.)
  • Step 8
  • Allow to cool in pan or on rack for 15 - 20 mins. Invert on plate and sprinkle powdered sugar over top if desired.
