  • 1 9inch pie crust (chocolate)
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter
  • 3 ounces bittersweet chocolate chips
  • 4 large eggs. (room temp)
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 3/4 cups sugar
  • 1 tblesp + 1 tsp molasses
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 tblesp rum. (optional)
  • 2 1/2 cups pecans halves

How to Make Chocolate Pecan Pie

If you have prepared the ingredients needed, now time to start cooking. There are 6 steps you must follow to make Chocolate Pecan Pie in your home by yourself.

    Step 1
  • PREHEAT OVEN TO 325°
  • Step 2
  • Prepare or thaw 9inch pie crust
  • Step 3
  • Melt butter and chocolate chips over low heat set aside
  • Step 4
  • In separate bowl whisk together eggs and water until well mixed. Whisk in sugar, molasses, vanilla, salt and rum Whisk in melted butter-melted chocolate chips
  • Step 5
  • Arrange ⅔ of pecans on bottom of pie crust and pour ¾ of filling over pecans Pecans will float to top of mixture Arrange remaining pecans on top of floating pecans Than pour remaining filling over pecans
  • Step 6
  • PLACE IN OVEN AND BAKE UNTIL FILLING IS SET AND SLIGHTLY PUFFED, ABOUT 50 MINUTES
