Ingredients: Clafoutis

  • 2 cup morello cherries, from a jar, drained (or you can use fresh cherries if you can get them, or frozen, thawed cherries)
  • 2 eggs plus 1 egg yolk
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 cup cream
  • 1/4 cup all purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup white sugar
  • 1/2 tbsp butter, for greasing the dish
  • 1/2 tbsp confectioner's (icing) sugar

How to Make Clafoutis

If you have prepared the ingredients needed, now time to start cooking. There are 6 steps you must follow to make Clafoutis in your home by yourself.

    Step 1
  • Heat oven to 190C.
  • Step 2
  • Grease a dish, then sprinkle half the sugar on the butter, turning the dish around to coat it in sugar.
  • Step 3
  • In a large bowl, whisk together the remaining sugar with the milk, cream, flour, eggs and egg yolk.
  • Step 4
  • Pour batter into the prepared dish, then sprinkle over the cherries.
  • Step 5
  • Carefully put the dish in the center of the oven, and bake for 40 - 60 minutes until risen and golden. (I had to finish mine under the grill/broiler)
  • Step 6
  • Dust with confectioner's/icing sugar. Serve warm.
