  • 300 ml self raising flour
  • 75 ml castor sugar
  • 1/2 egg
  • 90 grams butter
  • 200 ml desicated coconut
  • 12 ml milk

How to Make COCONUT RINGS

If you have prepared the ingredients needed, now time to start cooking. There are 8 steps you must follow to make COCONUT RINGS in your home by yourself.

    Step 1
  • Preheat oven to 180°C.
  • Step 2
  • Sift flour and rub butter into flour till it resembles bread crumbs.
  • Step 3
  • Add sugar and coconut and mix well.
  • Step 4
  • Make a well in the middle, add beaten egg, adding a little milk if necessary to make a stiff dough.
  • Step 5
  • Roll out dough to 5mm thickness and using a biscuit cutter cut out large circles.
  • Step 6
  • Using a smaller biscuit cutter, cut circles within larger circles to form rings.
  • Step 7
  • Brush the rings with egg white and sprinkle with equal parts sugar and coconut.
  • Step 8
  • Bake in oven for 10-15 minutes.
