Ingredients: cornbread

  • 1 1/4 cups cornmeal
  • 3/4 cups flour
  • 1 Tbsp granulated sugar
  • 1 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 3/4 tsp baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 1/2 cups buttermilk ( milk works fine)
  • 2 tbsp melted butter (canola oil is a good substitute)

How to Make cornbread

If you have prepared the ingredients needed, now time to start cooking. There are 6 steps you must follow to make cornbread in your home by yourself.

    Step 1
  • Preheat oven to 375°
  • Step 2
  • In a bowl, whisk together all dry ingredients.
  • Step 3
  • In another bowl, whisk eggs until frothy
  • Step 4
  • Whisk in butter milk and butter
  • Step 5
  • Pour over dry ingredients, stir just until combined (be sure not to overwork the mixture)
  • Step 6
  • Pour into 2-liter or 8×8 cake pan and bake for 25 to 30 minutes (test it like a cake)
