  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 6 green onions, chopped
  • 1/3 cup olive oil
  • 16 oz canned crabmeat, drained
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tbsp mayonaise
  • 1 tsp dry mustard
  • 8 oz buttery crackers, crushed
  • 1/2 tsp ground cayenne pepper
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/4 tsp Old Bay seasoning
  • 1 cup panko or regular dry breadcrumbs

How to Make Crab Cakes

If you have prepared the ingredients needed, now time to start cooking. There are 9 steps you must follow to make Crab Cakes in your home by yourself.

    Step 1
  • Heat 2 tablespoons oil in skillet over high heat.
  • Step 2
  • Saute green onions briefly until tender;
  • Step 3
  • cool slightly
  • Step 4
  • Combine crabmeat, sauteed green onions, egg, mayonnaise, dry mustard, crushed crackers, cayenne pepper, garlic powder, Old Bay seasoning, salt and pepper.
  • Step 5
  • Form into 1/2 inch thick patties.

  • Coat patties with bread crumbs.

  • Heat 1/2 cup oil in a skillet over medium high heat.
  • Step 8
  • Cook cakes until golden brown on each side.
  • Step 9
  • Drain briefly on paper towels and serve hot.
