  • For the filling
  • 1 Apple
  • 50 ml Water
  • 3 tbsp Sugar
  • 2 sheets Frozen puff pastry dough
  • Custard Cream
  • 1 Egg
  • 200 ml Milk
  • 5 tbsp Sugar
  • 10 grams Cake flour
  • 5 grams Cornstarch
  • 1 Vanilla extract

How to Make Crispy Apple Pie!

If you have prepared the ingredients needed, now time to start cooking. There are 14 steps you must follow to make Crispy Apple Pie! in your home by yourself.

    Step 1
  • Peel the apple and cut into bite sized pieces.
  • Step 2
  • Put the water and sugar into a pot and turn the heat on. When the sugar starts melting, add the apple and simmer until the apples soften.
  • Step 3
  • Transfer to a sieve and let cool.
  • Step 4
  • Bring the frozen puff pastry to room temperature.
  • Step 5
  • Make the custard cream. Combine the egg and milk into a bowl. Mix to cut through the egg white.

  • Stir in the sugar, flour, and cornstarch.
  • Step 7
  • Add to the pot while straining. Turn the heat off when the cream thickens to your liking. Add the vanilla extract and let cool.
  • Step 8
  • Mix the cream very well with a whisk to avoid lumps.

  • Roll out the puff pastry dough as thinly as possible.
  • Step 10
  • Line the mold with the puff pastry dough, and pour the custard cream. (Don't worry if it's not perfect.)
  • Step 11
  • Then add the simmered apples on top.
  • Step 12
  • Take the remaining puff pastry dough and cut it into strips, then lay on top in a lattice pattern.
  • Step 13
  • Brush on the egg glaze. Bake for 20 minutes in an oven preheated to 210°C, then turn down to 180°C and bake for another 10 minutes.
  • Step 14
  • Let cool once it's done baking, then go ahead and remove the mold once the bottom is cool enough to touch.
