  • 50 grams butter
  • 40 grams sugar
  • 1 tbsp milk
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 250 grams flour
  • 1 egg
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 2 tbsp rum
  • 1/2 lemon
  • 1 icing sugar
  • 1 oil

How to Make Crostoli

If you have prepared the ingredients needed, now time to start cooking. There are 7 steps you must follow to make Crostoli in your home by yourself.

    Step 1
  • Liquify the butter.
  • Step 2
  • Add the sugar, salt and a tablespoon of milk to the butter and mix the lot.
  • Step 3
  • Heap the flour on the counter, make a hole in the heap and pour the butter mixed with the other ingredients, the egg, the egg yolk, the rum and the juice and grated rind of half a lemon.
  • Step 4
  • Work the dough for about half an hour. Add a little milk if necessary to keep the dough soft.
  • Step 5
  • Roll out the dough very thinly.
  • Step 6
  • Cut the dough into whatever shapes you want (strips, rectangles, triangles...)
  • Step 7
  • Fry the dough shapes and dust with icing sugar.
