Ingredients: Cucumber Raita

  • 1 cucumber, peeled, seeded and grated or chopped
  • 1 cup plain non fat yoghurt
  • 1 tsp chopped mint leaves, or as an alternative cilantro or corriander leaves
  • 1/2 green chilli, seeded and chopped
  • 1/4 tsp ground cumin
  • 1 clove crushed and chopped garlic
  • 1/2 cup or half a red pepper, seeded and chopped
  • 1 pinch of salt

How to Make Cucumber Raita

If you have prepared the ingredients needed, now time to start cooking. There are 5 steps you must follow to make Cucumber Raita in your home by yourself.

    Step 1
  • Squeeze some of the juice or strain the grated or chopped cucumber and add it to the yoghurt.
  • Step 2
  • Mix the rest of the ingredients to the yoghurt mix,
  • Step 3
  • Other vegetables can be added such as onion and carrot,
  • Step 4
  • Add a few corriander or mint leaves as a garnish, serve chilled.
  • Step 5
  • Great with poppadoms or roti bread, and spicey foods.
